Conquering the swamps & my very own man-flesh

Finally finished the Bahamas quest. FINALLY! Augh.

I was stuck for a while at the Frog Fish hunting part of the quest as I was rushing my mains to Expert level. Anyway, a few Fridays ago, I saw someone broad for an FF squad, so I quickly joined the group.

Gag time before the hunt

Initially I was anxious to get the quest done because I didn't want to get caught in the middle of a crossfire with other factions who are hunting FF. Turns out that I didn't have to worry much. One of my squadmates spotted the fiend in some secluded corner, so we went there and whacked the thing like crazy.

Whacking the bejeezus out of FF.

Thank goodness we didn't have to share the spoils with other squads.

After FF, we stuck around as a group to hunt for the elusive Elite Amber Bee. I kid you not when I said that this thing is elusive. We spent a good number of time running around the map, but to no avail. In the end, I wasn't able to hang around that long and I had to hunt for the insect alone.

As I was more of a casual AFKer, I finally got the kill after 2 days. What's frustrating was that it looked like the normal Amber Bees in the area. Can you believe that? =_=

For those who are having difficulties searching for the Elite Amber Bee, here's a few tips that I got from those who finished the quest (and based from my own experience as well).

  1. Camp at H-J7 in Bahama Swamp of Eternity.
  2. Run around, switch channels & hover your mouse pointers on the bees (the elite version looks the same as that of the normal one, so you best be alert).
  3. You can also AFK in one spot that has a considerable spawn of Amber Bees and cross your fingers that when you check your quest log, you've already killed it.
  4. Oh, and be careful of the Escudo Prefer Leader, that is, if you don't have imba armors. :p It spawns in the same coords as that of the Elite Amber Bee.

In other news, I finally struck gold in ABS. And no, it's not a Dragon Heart Recipe. XD

I'm glad I took the risk this time in ABS a day before the 800% drop rate expired. Look at the best loot that I got!

I can hazz man-flesh. >:3

Okay, Soho the Wind might not be what other people would refer to as the "best loot", but given my unlucky streak in ABS, I'm just floored with delight! More hot guys in my family barracks, yay!

WTH are these two doing in a dark alley in Auch? XDDD

I also got some useful stuff like a Steel Spirit Stone, some colored ores, Amethyst pieces (prepping up for Chaos Requiem quests XD), elite 92 armor recipes and a few consumables. Not bad, not bad. ^^

Bahama Quest done, Gavin & Chaos Requiem, here I come! >_<

For the win!

Finally, my Vicente is veteran! *weeps tears of relief*

My veteran Vicente...let me show you him.

After finally promoting him to Vet, I decided to get his Veteran stance, Serenade, as well. Seeing that the guide in the forums was simple, I thought maybe it would be an easy task.

Boy, was I so very wrong.

The last task in getting the Serenade dealt with fighting the Mercenaries of Katai. Needless to say, my girls did not stand against a 52 and 56 AR/DR enemy, despite the fact that two of my main characters had decent armors.

The Mercenaries were quick and merciless. It took me three tries, using my Musketeer and Elementalist, hoping to nuke the dudes crazy, but I underestimated them.

Epic phail!

But a stroke of brilliance hit me that time. The enemies were mainly close combat fighters, and they can't very well hit an airborne character now, wouldn't they? It was at this moment when I thanked God I had a Wizard.

And true enough, I didn't even break a sweat. Although my Wizard's AR wasn't that significant, a continued bombardment of Photon Splashes did the job. Now, my Rio had his promotion AND his vet stance. Happy Anne is happy. ^_^

Revenge is sweet.

And just yesterday, I got another pleasant surprise as I finally received Rio's exclusive Bach costume! Finally, all those weeks of hard work finally paid off. ^^

Another pleasant thing that happened to me today came in the person of GM Eulalie who happened to drop by to visit our server. She conducted a trivia contest, in which I was lucky enough to answer one of the questions.

This week has been a great adventure for me. Hopefully the coming week ahead would yield the same, even better results.

Hope your week was a blast too! ^_~

My first l337 toy

I made a bold move to spend the remaining part of my salary to buy 12k Gpoints in order to work on farming for pure otites. With Amihan the Elementalist, my 4th veteran, finally joining the ranks some 2 weeks ago, I figured it would be best to start working on those 92 elites.

Perhaps the easiest bunch to create was the Elite Skullic Bracer, now that I've topped up my previous IOTM code. And so on that fateful Easter Sunday, I made my way to Tierra de los Muertos and started the gruelling task of killing undead uglies.

Needless to say, going to and fro this dark domain can be a bit boring, especially if the Gloomy Old Man happened to be in a foul disposition and only gives you 1 pure otite per visit. I thought I'd be doing the quest all day, that was until a party of PO farmers added me up to their squad, thus ending my long standing gripe about the stingy old man and the seemingly neverending quest of reaching the 30 PO mark.

Happy little girl with her l337 toy

That day truly was a good one for me, as I've finally earned Amihan's bracelet...my first 92 l337 toy.

Many thanks to my squadmates that Sunday. I hope to bump on you guys for my next PO farming. ^_^

The White Baron cometh

It was this week's maintenance when I realized how frustrating it was to wait for the 5PM mark before the servers went up. I had a magazine article deadline to beat, and the frickin' maintenance schedule got in the way of my plans.

So I counted each excruciating hour, and finally when the servers were opened, I quickly logged in, put on the Wheel of Destiny on my Wizard and sprayed otite perfume on all my 3 characters. Then I pestered Reclusion to lemme borrow his extra Le Blanc and headed off to Porto Bello Quay.

Welcome to the Dark Side.

Having a walkthrough for the baron quest proved to be quite useful as I didn't have to bungle my way looking for the location of the quest requirements. But being the natural klutz that I was, I nearly wasted my mystery powders with these stupid mistakes:

  • I sometimes forgot to activate the quest for pure otites from the Gloomy Old Man. The walkthrough did warn me about it, but what the hell...it was late, I was sleepy and I was feeling cranky with the deadline hanging over my head.

Undead ghouls = m0ar otites!

  • My stupid internet connection almost always gave up on me...right when I was watching the e-drama with Kurt, Edward and Sir Lyndon. Talk about major cliffhangers. Alas, more wasted mystery powders.
  • I couldn't kill the lvl 106 boss undead Fighter in the quest. You should've seen me hacking furiously at my keyboard pumping in those pots XD. Good thing a faction mate was there to lend a hand.
At the end of the quest, I was asked to choose which baron I should aid. Since I've noticed a sudden deluge of Kurt Lydons populating Carracci, I opted to help the other baron, Edward Jameson.

Let me tell you that I actually hesitated to choose Edward because I may have a hard time getting his card as I heard that I have to defeat Kurt (unlike in getting Kurt's card where you can get it even if you lose to Edward).

And you know what? The funniest thing happened to me while I was battling Kurt. First off, my Scout died (naturally..since she only had 49 DR >.<). Then my Musketeer tanked Kurt, who eventually died (stupid connection didn't get the pots in time, dammit!). When I saw Kurt hacking stupidly on my levitating Wizard, I knew this fight was in the bag. Bwahahaha!

I actually killed a lvl 115 enemy! *tears of joy*

And so, I'm very happy to add Tybalt Candore into the DeSanggria family barracks. ^_^

Some few photo ops:

Time for some Brokeback: My Edward with Reclusion's Edward

White Grim Reaper! Squeee! :3

I actually got his name from the anime Romeo x Juliet. I actually wanted to name him Romeo Candore (after the main character, Romeo Candore Van de Montague), but it sounded flaky and lame so I chose a supporting character's name, Tybalt, instead.

Now that I got that aside, 92 elites here I come! *goes to hunt for m0ar pure otites*

Many thanks to the ff. people:

faction EBs, quests, blogging and everything else in between

I have moved!
Okay, so I previously said I won't, but after Veya told me people had to sign up just to comment, I knew I had to move the DeSanggria abode to a more user-friendly host.

GE PH gamers have recently started conducting meet-ups to get to know their fellow GEeks (a term I coined to describe GE players XD). Talks among factions to have their own Faction EBs (eye-balls or get-togethers) are the buzz these days in the forums. GE PH Community Manager Veya has attended some of these and have written a post-event account in her blog.

Likewise I'm excited for a CARNAGE Faction EB sometime soon. Some of my factionmates have arranged impromptu EBs a few weeks ago, though I'd really like to see a huge attendance of the members in a grand meeting of sorts (although, I'm not too sure of a 100% attendance because some members reside in the provinces). I know for a fact that this faction is one bunch of crazy, funny gamers and I do want to meet them in person to put a face to those funny anecdotes I encounter in each of our faction chats.

The big question though is who will steer and organize this meet-up? What of everyone's availability?

=====

I'm glad to say that some members of the Yakisoba Faction have cleared the air regarding the heated posts in the CARNAGE Faction blog. Apparently, some people have been using the names of the known Yakisoba families to spam and flame in other factions' blogs. It's a good thing some people condoned these flame wars, or else we'd have some serious problems in our hands.

=====

I've been meaning to put up an Alaena entry, but I've been so engrossed in finishing the quests and leveling up to actually chronicle Alaena's exploits with her sisters. Oh, I've been taking screencaps and all, but some of them are not nearly as significant to merit an entry in this blog. I've been going to just 2 places in the map (Tetra Grand Corridor & Golden Road) so I can level grind and get more quests. I want to level faster coz I can't wait for Alaena to don the Heaven and Hell stance, which I've been rambling on for the last two entries or so. XD

Plus of course, I want to be worthy of being in CARNAGE, since this faction actually has a level requirement.

I guess I am taking my time to some extent because I love doing the quests as well. I've recently stopped doing Carlos' Escudo Pecher quest coz my slow PC puts the game in a perpetual state of lag, thus I can't complete the mission.

And I've finally acquired Gracielo! Hahaha. After 48 years of trying my luck, I actually beat the dude at around level 34. Some people have acquired his character card at a much earlier level, but as I've said, my PCs not cooperating so the girls die most of the time in combat missions. This is also the reason why I can't finish the stuff about Gracielo beating some three hulky fiends at the Coimbra Observation Point.

I've recently finished Brunie's initial request of Hard Chalcedonies, and I'm now doing her quest of obtaining the Golden Horn at the Tetra Golden Road. I've also taken on Idge's quest for some armor parts (yet again).

I'm just taking things one at a time. ^_^
