7-day solo flight

Yesterday I bid my friends in Sanggre Faction a temporary, but sad farewell. After finally figuring out how to transfer the FL rings, my small, cozy faction had a new leader in the person of Trianna.

It kinda felt weird not to have those shiny rings, but I guess it's all for the best. Trianna will be a good leader to the group, and perhaps the next time I encounter the faction, I'll be seeing new faces within the ranks.

Anyway, it's going to be a long week ahead of me as I go solo. It's a good thing I was able to redeem the Noble Court ranks now that my family level shaved off 3 points when I left the faction. I'll be regaining those hopefully in the coming week as I join the ranks of the ¤ ALL ¤ STAR ¤.

A new adventure awaits me very soon!

On the wings of lurve~

Pardon me for the rather corny pun to the title of this post. I'm just ecstatic that I've received the Rojo Puesta del Sol wings from the Hellena's Tarot Cards web event!

The wings have an inherent glow when worn. I'm really glad I bought 3 pairs that I can use on whichever MCC teams I choose to use. They look absolutely splendid on the girls. :)

On a personal note, I'm on my way to having a 5th Expert character! Unbelievable! I thought I'd only have my mains as Experts, but I've been hanging around a lot in AT AFKing most of the time, that in all those daily leveling activities, I managed to get my Bernelli promoted! Well, she's not yet promoted technically because I have yet to buy an Expert scroll for her. Not only that, my very own Selva is well on her way to the next level promotion as well. Things are looking good, if I do say so myself.

I've also made a decision to move to a raid-active faction after thorough contemplation. Although it really saddens me to leave my small faction, I think it's about time for me to start enjoying the game more by experiencing more activities like high level raids and everything. Truth be told, I haven't experienced any major raids, except when I tagged along LC for GOF and Garim. I'd like to know what it's like to participate in Uraeus, Griffon, GOL and all other raids with a big group that's reputed to be doing these raids on a daily basis.

I originally wanted to join LC for that purpose, since I've been with these people and have interacted with them on several occasions. But I feel that I'd be of more use in another faction, since LC does have 2 CCs in their ranks to date. And so, the automatic decision was to go to the ¤ All ¤ Star ¤ Faction.

It's actually my first time to try my luck in getting into a renowned faction. I remember back in Carracci and during the earlier days in Rembrandt, ¤ All ¤ Star ¤ was reputed to have top tier players as members, thus commanding a formidable army every Colony War.

Even though AS has had a change of FLs over the past 2 years of GE, I still have that same impression of power, skill and cunningness when it comes to these guys being active in the game. It's the perfect scenario for me to stop slacking off and really get serious in getting ahead.

Applying in itself was already nerve-wracking. I've been invited previously to join in LC, but I felt that at that time, and with my current team, I wouldn't be of much help to the faction. Now I think I have more or less the capability to go alongside most players in terms of getting ahead with power-leveled characters.

The AS peepz were quite thorough in putting me under a microscope. It's quite understandable that they set certain standards, although at one point I've questioned myself if I even fit the bill to join these guys. At that time I thought I must've been on crack to have ever ambitioned a spot in that really prestigious guild.

But looks like things are swimming well. I may have to leave my current faction sometime soon, but I can't seem to pass the FL rubber duckies to Trianna, as the system said that changing FLs isn't allowed when it's election period. Wow, I didn't even know such a function existed!

Ah well, I think it would be best for me to let the faction penalty blow off some steam for the meantime. There's a lot of things to do lately and I haven't been that much productive, hence the rather late post for today. XD

DeSanggria is two years old!

As promised, here's a little something for everyone reading this humble blog. :)

I actually missed out my site's birthday as it was last month, but as usual, I'd like to do things a bit differently by getting you guys working on a nice contest.

Now, this is just going to be a simple one. I will be narrating 5 questions about this blog and particularly the DeSanggria family in general. If you're sharp enough, you will find all the answers in this site. All you have to do is use the search button.

What's the prize, you may ask?

I'll be giving away a Granado Espada tumbler, the very same one that Uncle Meepoktah is auctioning in his own sale. The good news is, if you win the contest, I will ship it to you, wherever you are! It's a really nice and durable tumbler that you can use as a water container when you're out on the road or anywhere else.

Tumbler image c/o Mistress Hrin

Aside from the tumbler, I shall be including a secret prize that's not GE related. Hehehe. I just want to add something extra to make it worth your while. :D

Okay, let's get down to business!

  1. What are the names of my main family in Rembrandt? Clue: Musketeer, Scout, Elem (all female)
  2. From which server did I start off in GE when it was first launched?
  3. What's the name of my first faction in this server (your answer to #2)?
  4. When did GE Philippines celebrate its own launch party?
  5. What was my first GE cosplay?

Again, I'd like to remind you that all the answers are found in this blog...all you have to do is use the search button. Easy, right?

After you've taken down the answers, email your entry to me at this address: desanggria[at]gmail[dot]com. You can only submit an entry once, and the winner will be determined via randomizer (so I really hope you're the lucky type hehe). Please use the following format when submitting:

*Real Name:
*Address:
IGN:
Server:
Faction:
Your answers:

*Information will be held in strictest confidence.

Deadline for submission of entries is Wednesday, June 17 at 2300hrs (GMT+8). I will announce the winner the next day, June 18, just in time for the weekly maintenance.

Got it? Good! Good luck guys and I hope you have fun in this contest! :)

Soooo pink!

Just changed my blog banner and template, and suddenly, there's too much pink! >_<

Ugh. I have to get around to finally learning the ropes on making a decent blog banner and an equally appealing template. The selections here in Blogger are so bland, it makes me want to scream.

Bear with the colors for now, folks. I think it kinda suits the trio of ghey men in the photo anyway. Hehe.

Slowly but surely

Going solo these past few weeks proved to be quite a daunting task for me as I don't have that much people to talk to during the rare times that I'm not always AFK leveling. It feels like I've been power leveling since I got to play GE and it can sometimes get dragging and boring.

I'm still in the process of vetting my Bai Hu. It'll probably take me a few more days before I start gagging at this tiresome chore of vetting characters. So to give myself something to look forward to in this game, I came up with a few personal goals.

DS' Purpose of Existence in GE (in no particular order):

  • Get to Expert level (hopefully by that time, they haven't released the Master level, otherwise much shiet will be had).
  • Participate in major raids (Elemental Gates, Griffon, KOG, FF, Uraeus, etc.)
  • Finish the Katovic and Bahamas Quests.
  • Beat the living daylights out of Novia and get an extra Gavin RNPC card.
  • Acquire decent (much emphasis on the word) armors and weapons.
  • Participate in Colony Wars without getting my ass raped (or not being totally over-raped if there is such a word XD). Or perhaps getting to kill some people in CW.
  • Actually winning in a PvP match (oh man, this is going to look so funny with a PvP noob like me).

Hmm...these goals are pretty much doable, yes? The only thing I see there that's going to be pretty tricky is the road to Expert level and the acquisition of weapons and armors that will help me achieve the others.

Hopefully I'd be able to earn my keep once I rejoin a faction, but looking at the way things are, it's not going to be a bed of roses. Seeing my main team's AR & DR makes me just want to weep in disappointment. I still have a long, long way to go.

I just hope I still have the patience to finish all these before I lose interest in it all together. Hopefully. Hopefully.

What I've been up to last weekend

While the rest of the GE folks were busy having fun at the GE Black Party, I was high up in the mountains of Sagada, somewhere in Northern Luzon. It's not actually customary for me to post stuff that's not GE-related, so kindly indulge me with a real life topic for a change.

Anyway, as I was saying, I spent the weekend in Sagada for some much needed R&R. It came to be a good decision because not only was I able to unwind, I was also able to get back in the mood for some shutterbug action!

My friend and I spent 2 days exploring the quiant town. Since the place is so high up in the mountains, it kinda reminded me a lot about El Lago de Tres Hermanas (because of the high, high trees) and the Ustiur jungles (forest-y town).

I was also able to view the famed Banaue Rice Terraces (for the Pinoys out there, this is definitely one major site that you have to check out). I was likewise able to go cave spelunking (Skullic Caves, FTW! Minus the bat dung, that is >_<), an activity that became the answer to my adventure-deprived soul.

I took quite a lot of pictures, but I'm not going to post them all here. I just hope these won't kill your browsers. :P

El Lago de Tres Hermanas, anyone? ^^

Long hours of travel just to view this masterpiece = priceless

Limestone rock formations where some hanging coffins are located

Going all tourist-y in the Skullic Caves. Hehehe.

On the way back to Manila, we took the Baguio route to meet up with an old friend. While wandering around the city's nearby mall, guess who I happened to meet by chance.

Stiles with DeSanggria

I just had to harangue Stiles to come back to GE. He says he's quite up to his neck with school work, although he did mention he might get back to playing again after clearing his real life responsibilities.

Do that, dude. The whole gang's been wanting to get together both in-game and in real life. Hope to see you soon!

And so here ends the account of my short tryst. I don't wanna bore you guys with something non-GE. ^^

=====

In other news, Hrin just leaked in her blog that the server merge might be pushed at a later date, along with v.2.9's content release.

More time to socialize with future neighbors then! ^_^

Oh, and have you guys heard about the MCC combination buffs? Man, oh man, more reasons to get a Selva Norte RNPC Card!

a change of pace + GE in-game event

I've decided to move in to Caravaggio for the meantime in order to get to work on the next featured faction for the website. I'm currently within the ranks of the PasawayProphecy Faction, a fun group who enjoys sniffing katol (wehehehe) and passing around amusing comments on the Faction chat.

And with my temporary transfer to Caravaggio, I've revived the DeSanggria cousins Kahlil (Scout), Raquim (Musketeer), and Armeo (Elementalist), who all happen to be guys. LOL. I wonder what's the counterpart for chicksilog for girls then. XD

Anyway, I'm back to leveling the boys from scratch. It's such a chore to level, now with the 2XP event gone and all. I'm beginning to get tired of seeing the Ferruccio Junction and those blasted hopping crocodiles. But something unexpected happened last night in that very spot: some low level monster dude dropped the most insane item ever...a friggin' Lloyd Control Ring! O.O

Okay, I know this costs millions and all, with so many players getting their share of Catherine RNPCs. I thought it was my lucky day and that I can have this thing transferred to my Cervantes characters. But then again, stupid me, I just realized I can't very nearly transfer items to another server so that means either I train the boys decently to reach the appropriate level so I can get my own Catherine, sell it to the market place or to someone else, or to just plain give it away.

But I'm not that much of a saint to actually give it away without a catch. Mwahahahaha.

In other news, I've finally leveled the girls to 52! Hahahaha. It's such a big feat for me, considering the limited time I can play and that I don't have someone else to pilot my characters. I'm just glad they're finally eligible to wear other clothing aside from those leather armors and robes which have become really sickening to look at for the last 3 months. LOL.

At last, new wardrobe! :3

Oh and I just realized the girls can be Baroned now, but if we ever do meet in-game, go easy on me. ^^

But I'm not stopping there! I hope to see the Verdandi dressed in a Rosa Matrimonio gown, Alaena in a Gladiator Suit and Cyradis in a Laranja e Preto ensemble. That's gonna take a lot of grinding for me. XD I guess I ought to say goodbye to my social life for the meantime. Harharhar.

===

RCM Hrin has announced an in-game event happening in all of GE's 5 servers on Channel 1: The Return of the Dark Lord, Vergo The Cursed.

The event happens today, August 9, at 2000 (GMT +8) at the Reboldeoux Queen's Gate. I heard this Vergo dude's one tough nut...good thing wyldfyer from the GE forums had this handy screenshot of this monster.

Waah! Level 100 abomination!

I'm not too sure if I can stick around to cover the event (with the storm brewing and all), but we'll see!

P.S.: It's Singapore's National Day today! Have a great one, people! ^0^

colony wars: a first-hand experience

The DeSanggrias got their first taste of Colony Wars yesterday, and I have to say that the experience was nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time! If I had serious hypertension concerns that time, I'd have died writhing in my seat. XD

Anyway, I went off to i-Hooked Net Cafe in Katipunan just to play GE and to have a first-hand experience of what it's like to go to war with one's faction. Despite the fact that the place was not that cold, I was freezing with anxiety. In fact, I was a bit adamant to join because of my family's level, but I figured it was worth a shot to try it out just to see my faction mates all together.

The attendance for the CARNAGE Faction was surprisingly low. Most of the resident faction mamaws were particularly missing, like Estradz and Infernalz among others. I just remembered then that some of them had an EB together with the wildboyz Faction that night (which also meant that these guys were probably drinking booze until the wee hours and would not wake up until late in the afternoon..LOLZ!).

In spite of the shortage, everyone was already on their toes, waiting for faction leader Overseer to start issuing orders. At 30 minutes before the start of the war, Lolo Seer (as we fondly call El Capitan XD) finally organized troops and gave orders for the platoon leaders to mobilize their members. I was able to tag along Quicky & Seighart's 3rd platoon and we all decided to meet up in Port of Coimbra.

CARNAGE Faction converge in Port of Coimbra Ch. 1

Upon arriving at the said location, I was surprised to see a lot of my faction mates—all eager for the battle to commence. I also noticed that I was the lone lowbie in the group, much to my embarrassment XD. Anyway, I learned from Seighart that our platoon was supposed to meet up in El Lago de Tres Hermanas. And since I didn't know how to get there, he offered to lead the way from the City of Auch to the awaiting colony.

The 3rd platoon contingent arrives

It's clobberin' time!

Making room for Quicky to do his thing XD

The first contingent of the 3rd platoon arrived at El Lago sometime after the start of the Colony War. I was with Seighart, Quicky, AquinoYap, Hawksmoor, Foxhoundz and Bushma before the rest of the group came in. The main objective was to whack the colony tower in the middle of the surrounding structures before any other faction beat us to it.

Little did I know that little tower sure took a long time to give in despite the fact that I was with a bunch of high level families. XD

A few minutes after we started ganging up on the Colony, Seighart told us to back off to give room for Quicky to do some serious damage. Then after, we got back to hacking and slashing and before long, El Lago's Colony became property of the CARNAGE Faction!

El Lago Colony: OWNED!

Our next stop was at Porto Bello's Deserted Quay. I decided to move back to the barracks and to use the Waypoint on the way to Porto Bello, but when I got there, several Thoracotomies (lvl 100) populated the area and I was dead in an instant. I went back to Reboldoeux, let Cyradis heal the group and then trudged back to Porto Bello. I took quick steps and veered away from the path of the high level monster until I reached my destination and waited until some of the squad members arrived.

The conquest of Porto Bello's Colony

Like in El Lago, the conquest of Porto Bello's Deserted Quay Colony was an easy one. I was able to use Verdandi's newly-learned skill, Meteor Strike, without any disturbances from enemies. Damned skill took quite some casting time, which made it hard for me to use in mob attacks, but thankfully I was able to see up close what it looked like while it dealt a bit of damage on the colony.

CARNAGE Faction at its best form

Spot the clones! LOLZ!

There were a lot of CARNAGE peepz in that location and I saw quite a handful of Claude Baudez and levitating Wizards in Clara Mago outfits. Wah! Seeing those floating Wizards made me wish I'd gotten myself one. But then again, it was nice to see Elementalists in Rosa Matrimonia outfits...the very same gown I want Verdandi to wear when she gets to a much higher level.

Next colony in line: Jezebel's Glen. Well, at least I knew how to get there so I just used a warp scroll (thank God I was able to save that location) so the girls went on to help the rest of the group. I saw a few families from other factions trying to worm their way in getting the colony, but due to the overwhelming number of CARNAGE mamaws (hehehe), it was inevitable that we claimed Jezebel's Glen.

CARNAGE claiming Jezebel's Glen Colony

Afterwards, someone from the squad (forgot if it was Hawksmoor or Seighart) announced that we were to head next to King's Garden. I took the long trip of going to Al Quelt Moreza then Cathari Falls before finally arriving in the designated area. I was surprised to know that VIRLEAD Faction already owned the place, and even more flabbergasted when I was the first to arrive there. Imagine the shock on my face when I met the faction's full force—and I was the lone CARNAGE family (and a lowbie one at that), so naturally I got pwned. LOLZ. Now I knew what it's like to be surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves. XD Man, I should've gotten a screenshot of that...it would've been priceless!

In between missions to claim Colonies, CARNAGE engaged in Faction Wars as well. As far as I can remember, we've declared war on CloudNine and VIRLEAD Factions. Also, some of the Colonies we acquired soon underwent attack from other factions, so Lolo Seer called out members to help in protecting our Colonies. And since time was running short as well, our faction leader was bent on defense rather than getting more Colonies from other factions.

There was one point when I went back to the Deserted Quay that we encountered a Sabel Tiger ganging up on enemy factions. Hehehe. It was as if the monster was there defending the Colony for us instead of the other way around. And there was another moment when I ventured back to El Lago that I got chased by an enemy faction who was out for CARNAGE blood. Seeing that I was no match for a high level family, I retreated and saved my girls from utter pwnage. XD

All in all, CARNAGE owned 6 Colonies at the end of the 2-hour war. Dominion Faction got the most, but the excitement's going to be several notches higher in today's Colony Wars as the Yakisoba Faction's bound to make an appearance.

I'm not so sure if I can cover today's war, but I doubt I'd be much help in defending our Colonies with Yakisoba in the run. Nevertheless, I'm just happy to have been able to participate in such an exhilarating event.

Until next CW! CARNAGE FOR TEH WIN!!!

Much thanks to Seighart, AquinoYap, Hawksmoor and everyone at CARNAGE for being a big help in the DeSanggrias' first CW adventure. Go Go Go Paps! Hehehehe.

peekchur time!

While waiting for the server maintenance, a few of my factionmates with me and Veya chatted over at YM. I didn't get much work done in the process (hehe), but I did get stomach cramps just from controlling the urge to howl with laughter. I think my boss thought me weird yesterday, looking constipated and all, but what the heck...it was the perfect way to pass time.

After work yesterday, I logged in the game to chat with a few more CARNAGE peepz, and even joined factionmate AquinoYap's invitiation to engage in a Mission Interchange adventure. We invited a few more from the faction, but eventually it was just the DeSanggrias, AquinoYap and Estradz who took on the quest.

It was actually my first time to do a squad mission, and I was pretty much uneasy with these two high level mamaws (mwehehe). My computer was in a virtual state of lag yet again, but I managed to be not much of a burden to the team as we battled Escudo Pechers, Mermen and some crate octupuses. I was actually waiting for some of the girls to die because of the snail's pace connection and all that crap, but thankfully, none of them wavered, thanks to Estradz's hot Scout (LOLZ!).

All in all, it was fun! I really ought to do more of these Interchange quests. The drops are pretty cool as well. I didn't get to pick out some skills rings, but that's ok. There'll be more opportunities to get some rare drops in the future.

Winnar!

But of course, I'm not about to pass up on the chance for screenie-taking! I put some thought balloons on some of the pictures, although only Pinoys will be able understand some of the dialogues I put there. Hehehe. Click on the image for full view!

AquinoYap's funny Adelina, McDo-ish Wizard and cute Scout!

Owned! LOLZ!

Big shoutouts and thanks to Estradz and AquinoYap for a fun quest!

And there's going to be a test Colony Wars once again this weekend at 8PM - 10PM (GMT +8)! I hope I can join in with the faction to document the action as well. ^_^

yatta!

I finally got the girls at level 30 after much level grinding. Yeah, it's still a bit low level compared to those who are at their level 40s and up, but what the heck...it almost took me forever to get them in that current situation. I'm already in the process of leveling Alaena to 32 so she can don the Wallace Great Sword, a unique weapon I bought at the Auction house primarily because of its nice attributes and high attack powers.

I really like Great Swords because of its kick-ass design and the sheer mass. Fighters look dangerous wearing those huge weapons on their backs...much more if it's a glowing +5!

What I really want Alaena to have is the Heaven and Hell stance, which can only be acquired at level 40. It's still a long way to go, but I've got all the time in the world.

As for Verdandi, she's already using the Evocation of Fire stance. On the upside, I like the Hell Breath skill, which is somewhat similar to Uchiha Sasuke's Katon Blazing Fire technique. But she walks too damn slow! I have no idea how heavy those elemental bracelets are, but having Verdandi wear two of them is slowing her down! T_T She doesn't have a high level armor to protect her, and the team cannot move around that much with her trailing way behind. I really must invest on a new protective suit for her. I really love her current stance, but alas, I can't have everything. *le sigh*

On the other hand, I'm leveling Cyradis' Fortitudo stance so she can aid her sisters with better buffs. Her Healing stance is almost maxed up, though I haven't alloted the last skill point on the Cure All skill.

On a side note, I've created another DeSanggria family on the Pachelbel server. I figured that it's about time I tried the non-PK servers now that I have two families on Cervantes and Caravaggio. I have Althalus the Fighter, Azulan the Scout, and CeVanne the Wizard all on level 1 (hahaha..pathetic! XD). My other DeSanggria cousins (Armeo, Kahlil, and Raquim) are still stuck in level 7 though LOL. I really must devote some time to leveling them as well.

This made me think how NineMoons manages her other families in all servers. XD

Anyway, I'll be posting some pictures of the Zouk Raid Party (courtesy of Veya), as well as the latest updates on the DeSanggrias on the next post. There was an avalanche of work this week that I cannot just find time to write a lengthy journal entry of the three sisters. It'll be Verdandi's entry coming up next, and we'll all get to see how vain and bratty this Elementalist really is. ^.~

AFK = WTF?!

Late yesterday evening, I went back to the office after a game of badminton with my officemates. My Dad was going to pick me up after a few minutes, so I decided to play a quick round of GE. But I estimated his ETA a bit off...I was only able to play for a few minutes until he texted me, saying he's right within the vicinity of Buendia.

I've always wanted to try out what it's like to go away from keyboard (AFK) in GE, as most gamers have been doing in order to curb the impatience brought about by the level grinding. I was hesitant to do it before, as I had insane thoughts of the PC blowing up after being left open overnight. But yesterday night was different, so I took the plunge.

I switched on the electric fan and pressed the auto attack control on the keyboard. Satisfied in see my girls randomly killing monsters at the Tetra Grand Corridor, I turned off the PC monitor and crossed my fingers. Then I headed out.

I was supposedly not going to work today, as I was feeling really sick with this virus I caught in the office. But I knew I left my PC open the entire night, and I was getting anxious to see the level the girls have attained. Despite my sickly disposition, I was excited to get to the office (the first of it's kind, really XD). When I got to my station and brought the monitor to life, there it was...

My DeSanggria girls were still at the same level I left them, with Verdandi and Cyradis dead at Alaena's feet.

Great.

I figured they died after being mobbed by the monsters (the Tetra Grand Corridor is notorious for those monster mobs appearing after opening a suspicious-looking box), and they couldn't very well go on auto attack mode again with no one hitting the controls to activate it.

Oh well, my first AFK experiment...a MASSIVE FAILURE.

But still, there's a next time for everything. >:)

===

I've created another family in the Caravaggio (PK) server, and this time, it's an all-male team. They're actually the cousins of the three sisters, and they likewise share the same family name of Alaena, Verdandi and Cyradis. I took on creating Kahlil (Scout), Raquim (Musketeer) and Armeo (Elementalist), coining their names from my favorite GMA fantaserye. I actually wanted to have a male elementalist in my lineup, because his gay-ish voice cracks me up all the time. I decided on having a musketeer then, because it would look drab if I had the same lineup of characters, only of a different gender.

The boys are still at level 7 and are currently doing Idge's old armor quest at the Feruccio Junction (which also happens to be a boring quest in my book). Hopefully I'd be a bit more inspired to help them attain higher levels, as I'm currently busy improving the girls in the Cervantes server.

Too bad with the server separation, the DeSanggria cousins wouldn't be able to meet face to face.

a strange world

Dear Mama,

We have arrived safely in Granado Espada, and so far, the Queen's officials in this New World treat the Pioneers with high regard. So many families have already set foot in this continent; some have already embarked on various missions to cleanse the place from monsters. We are confident that we too can take part in these quests. In fact, we've
already accomplished a few, much to the delight of Alaena.

We had this one quest in which we had to kill a certain number of giant hornets. Naturally, only Verdandi can take them down as they were airborne. Alaena took care of the monsters attacking us, while I made it a point to use my skills in order to heal my sisters from the wounds of battle. Thankfully, we were able to vanquish these monsters and claim our reward, the Hornet Amber (I daresay it would be of good use to us when we find ourselves in a fix).

While on our way back to Cite de Reboldoeux, we encountered a massive creature called the Hill Giant. Naturally with Alaena in the group, she wanted to take down the fiend for herself. Of course, we couldn't just leave her alone, so the three of us followed it around,
hitting it randomly with spells and swords. The monster proved to be a tough one as it
took Alaena by surprise with one of its massive attacks. Thank goodness I was able to heal her in time before anything fatal happened.

Other families also joined in the battle against the giant. The fight lasted for quite a while...it was really difficult to conquer a huge monster with such a high defense. If it were not for the other pioneers, I'm afraid we'd have been in a difficult bind. Nevertheless, we were able to bring it to its knees, thus finally putting an end to the destruction it caused.

As much as there were a lot of strange creatures in the battle field, we found a lot of interesting people in Reboldoeux
as well. The city itself is well on its way to becoming the next Vespanola with its fabulous architecture, quaint streets and avenues, modern facilities and excellent governance. Verdandi did not want to pass up the chance to explore, and she wanted to look up the latest fashion in Granado Espada. Thankfully, the money you gave us as well as our regular allowance from the Office of Pioneering Support was more than enough for Verdandi's whims, and so we sought a renowned couturier by the name of Andre Janzur.

This Janzur fellow seemed like a very famous person in the city. People actually flocked to his shop to browse for his latest creations. We were told that he made fantastic clothes and that his creations do not come cheap. Just imagine the glint in Verdandi's eyes when she heard that and you'll understand what I meant.

Anyway, we finally met this Monsieur Janzur, and he was...well...a trifle odd. I don't know how to describe him, but he particularly irked Alaena (she said his build was too queer and his mannerisms effeminate for him to be considered a man). But Verdandi took to him like a long lost sheep! In spite of Verdandi's praises on this strange man, he was a shrewd merchant and did not give us any discounts at all (I think this absolutely displeased Verdandi).

We explored this city a bit more. We bought supplies, enhanced our armors and weapons and took on a few more quests. Alaena likes to plan for our strategies in fulfilling our missions, and we took quite a lot of time planning our moves before we headed out.

In fairness to Alaena, she may seem to be too spirited sometimes, but her interest in battle and her strategic plans helped us a lot in the success of our missions. Alaena is a formidable leader and I'm glad we have someone who actually rationalizes over battles, unlike Verdandi who just wants to get things over and done with.

Ever since our arrival in Granado Espada, things have been very busy for us. With so many quests and tiring missions,
I sometimes find it strange why we don't tire easily. I guess being in a new environment forces us to be on our toes and to always be on our guard. We miss you all terribly. Verdandi and I sometimes talk about our life back home and the people we left behind. Alaena wouldn't have it, though. She says that it is our duty to see to the Crown's wishes and she wouldn't want to see us vulnerable with our thoughts of home. Yet, I know that she too misses our home. I sometimes find her deep in thought, and I know that she thinks of you and Papa as well. I guess Alaena means well for all of us; she is our elder sister after all.

Anyway, we are currently handling a mission
deep in the Al Quelt Moreza dungeons. The place is strewn with abominable monsters, but we've managed so far. We've recruited one person to our team, a little boy by the name of Ramiro,
yet Alaena does not want him to join perilous quests (she told me she doesn't want to be encumbered by a small one to worry about all the time).

Ramiro does not say anything, but I know he's rather disappointed not to join us. I agree with Alaena though. It's not that we don't want him around...we just don't want to put his life in danger with so many dangerous monsters stalking the dungeons. We do have our best interests for the boy.

We've been going to and fro the dungeons to retrieve items as part of the quest. At times,
we strengthen ourselves even more by killing more monsters. Other pioneering families are doing this as well, although sometimes it was pretty difficult to catch monsters and kill them as there were so many of us ambushing them in so many places.

While doing one of these "strength training" tests (as Alaena puts it), I almost got myself in serious trouble because of my carelessness. Thankfully, someone stood guard to cover me while I regained my composure. A tall, dashing musketeer saved me from being mobbed by these monsters, and I stood there immobilized for quite a while, not just because of my injuries, but also with the fact that this altruistic young man watched over
me. I do not know his name or where he came from, but I am eternally grateful for his help. I do hope I can see him again in much more amicable circumstances.

I believe we've finally attained a level of strength that would enable us to don new armors. Verdandi bought a dress
which matches her elemental abilities, while Alaena took on the Hack and Slash stance and put on two swords. I on the other hand, fortified my healing skills and donned a sturdy armor for defense. Thanks to the Stance Masters, I can say that we've stocked up and were more than capable to face the dangers awaiting us next.

We are finally ready for our next mission—the fight to rid the Al Quelt dungeons of the evil brought about by the priest, Dilos Latemn. I can sense a certain kind of mystery enveloping this person. Most of the people we've talked to are quite firm in saying that the priest brought upon evil in what was once upon a holy and venerated place. I for one do not believe such accusations, and this mission is just about the right moment for me to get to the bottom of things.

Meanwhile, please send Papa our love. Please do not worry about us for we all watch over each other. We can't wait to go home to be back with everyone.

Your daughter,
Cyradis
