Teh daet wif teh troll

I be talking 'bout meh daet wif teh GCR troll in their event, Win A Date Wif A Perv...errr..I mean, Win A Date With A Troll.

I totally missed out on teh first day of voting, but thankfully, I was able to have a bit of spaer tiem the next day to hang around. I first bought some chocos from Lisa, only to find out that these stuffs cost a farking arm and leg (almost 2m for 9999 pcs.).

I can't remembur how many chocos I bought, but I think I spent around 20m. So yah, meh vis account is currently dwindling, thanks to some spur-of-the-moment splurging that I did.

So yah, I went off to Auch to pass meh votes to Straightener and to just hang around wif the crowd who were also participating in teh event. Turned out to be a fun session meeting wif a lot of people I just usually see in teh broads, as well as wif some of teh familiar faces I know of.

To sum up the convos that happened in Auch, it was mostly about weird perversions.

One wuz xArchangel's yuri tendencies for our twin female elementalists.

If you see it, you sh1t bricks. XD

Two, Llavore and DelaValliele had a field day peeking at teh girls' skirts. -_-;

Is it just me, or is it getting hot in here?

Find teh perv in this pic.

*headdesks & facepalms*

And yah, it turned out I won for spamming chocos. Got some good stuff from teh GCR fegs (nyahaha!) too. Not bad, not bad. XDDDD

I know I wuz blabbing about teh daets and all, but I got a bit of teh cold feet that time. Good thing my good friend and sole faction mate (teh lulz), Trianna, and her sister, Hemonus, offered teh perfect distractionz...Swamp Frog Fish! >:3

I dragged teh GCR pervies to join us for an FF squad, in which we whacked about 3-4 Wetland Frog Fishies before finally landing on teh real one. It was a fun experience, 'cept for the time when Vashal was being his grumpy self, scaring the living daylights out of meh.

Wetland Frogfish...do not want! >_<

Speaking of His Grumpiness, he chided me to work on meh Chaos Requiem quest and offered to tag along for the tour. Little did I knoe that when I agreed, I already signed myself up for teh daet that was supposed to be teh prize (aside from teh items & stuffz) from their event.

And so, there I was, being shown around teh dangerous caverns of Chaos Requiem. I wouldn't have thought to step foot inside teh place after meh fateful first-hand tour of teh place in teh test servers.

Wait for meeeee!

And if that wasn't done, he goaded me further to finish meh Gavin quest. To cut teh long story short, yes, I finished it all & got meh 2nd Gavin card. LOL.

Speaking of which, here's one of the most memorable convos we had on the way to Ferruccio Wall:

Me: I already have Gavin's card, btw.
Al (Vashal): You bought it. <--notice how he never asks questions? teh lulz!
Me:
Yes.
Al: What a waste.
Me: I like cute guys in my barracks, so sue me.

Epic conversation is epic.

I feel like I'm going to incriminate mehself more, so in summation, I got the Chaos Requiem & Gavin quest done, which means I can now enter Zeia! Yay! So despite meh troll daet's unnerving disposition, I still owe him big time.

Al, if you're reading this (which I hope to God you won't...harharhar), I just want to say my thanks for all the help and assistance in teh quests. I hope in some insane way, you enjoyed hanging out wif meh. I enjoyed it too, yah noe. When you weren't being grumpy on me, that is. :p

And stop running away from your responsibilities wif our kids. HAHAHAHA. Teh epic lulz.

Ok, ok. I end here. My fingers hurt.

P.S.: Many thanks to the GCResidents Faction of Rambutt server, their FL, Straightener, for the fun event yesterday. I was srsly lmao-ing in meh seat. XDDDDD

That be (l-r): GCResidents (Desmond,) Moi, Maki (Straightener), Pervie Ash (DelValliele) & Grumpy Al (Vashal)...wif valinorian

New Year freebies!

Finally, we get a New Year in-game event!

It was rather unsettling to find those lady mobs at the Ice Tower hanging around town. Good thing they weren't lethal. Hehehe.

Anyway, we have another search event! Search for 20 of Sir Bravo's swords and get cool items! The stuff ain't that bad at all, considering that some include nifty accessories, consumables and a kick-ass ice GS (although low AR).

How to do this quest? Easy.

1. Go to Cite Reboldoeux.
2. Talk to the skank Lady near Leonardo Expreso to activate quest.
3. After finding all 20 locations, report back to skanky Lady to receive rewards.

They're over here!

Some people already posted the spoilers or the locations to these swords, so if you're still clueless where to find them, here's teh list:

Ferrucio Junction - C9
Al Quelt Moreza - F2
Al Quelt Moreza Nartex - B8
Tetra Ruins - F8
Tetra Catacombs - H8
Jezebel Glen - F8
Porto Bello, The Deck - L6
Porto Bello Desolate Cliff - H6
Thueringen Lakeside - C5
El Lago de Tres Hermanas - I8
Dr. Torsche's Mansion, Reception Hall - J8
El Tejado Verde - G4
Outside Bahia - J5
Crater of Joaquin - H/I9 (somewhere in between)
Old Port of Coimbra - G7 (best view evah! :3)
Lago Celeste - H5
Topolo Durga - D5
Abertal - H5
Reboldoeux Queen's Gate - H6 (thanks to fenrisbearfist ^^)
Rion Praire - H3 (thanks to Chinensis ^^)

I think I got too excited to complete the search. I already clicked all 20 locations but forgot to activate the quest. LOL. As a result, the ice lady said I only found 18 swords. =_=

Here's a list of rewards based on the number of finds:

10pcs Snow Spray - 5 locations
[15D] 1 White Angel Wings (with movement speed stats) - 8 locations
[15D] 1 Black Angel Wings (with movement speed stats) - 12 locations
lvl 100 Fleudelis (Ice Greatsword) - 16 locations
1 Brown Ear Mouse Hat - 20 locations

If you get all 20 locations, you get all items! But since the lady said I got only 18, I wasn't able to claim the Mouse hat...yet.

Teh hat. Photo c/o Bandeau

Teh Fleudelis.

Time to go back to those locations & re-click teh swords. T_T

Happy hunting! ;)

Christmas wish, granted!

I was already hoping for the worst because of my Internet connection at home. Thankfully, the forces of nature cooperated with me and I was able to hang out in the game...just in time to see Santa's quirky laugh all over the server notice.

And speaking of Santa...this one cracked a joke or two while delivering presents to the noteworthy players. I'd have laughed along with the rest, if not for the fact that I was anxious as hell. Santa called quite a number of players and I was already half-expecting that he'd go bye bye, along with my hopes of ever getting chosen.

And then there it was! My name was called! I broaded instantly, even without knowing what wish Santa was granting me. Then he said I got an MBB, which is quite cool really (although I did say I'd be happy to have the White Cristatus even more than the GP or IOTM haha!). I was finally able to breathe easy after that.

Well then, I'd be getting the codes on Monday since Santa's got no work on weekends. Anyway, I'm just happy as a pea on my comfortable pod. But before that, here's a list of winners of Rembrandt's Naughty or Nice Day 2! Sorry...I would've listed down the winners on yesterday's event, but crappy Internet is crappy.

Inanna - 70k GP
Zanhaart - 70k GP
* Revolucion
Visquante - Elite Skullic Bracelet
fizz - 70k GP
Jezardi - Elite Rescue Suit recipe
VaqueroZ - 70k GP
Segnir - White Cristatuis
* Souken
** Ziendemonium
Drakezion - Elite Bone Frame recipe
Nivnal - 100 ABS
SuperiOrity - Bracelet of Ziz (but at his insistence, Santa changed it to the Bracelet of Behemoth)
Claimore - MBB
Philistia - 70k GP
Atkasha - 100 ABS
*** Casafuego
Thallmann - 70k GP
Icarus - MBB
Milycius - 100 ABS
DeSanggria - MBB
PepperILU - MBB
DraclouZ - 70k GP
Nieve - Bracelet of Behemoth
Arconis - Elite Destruction of Steel
Niji - White Cristatus
TheDevFamily - White Cristatus
*Sephies

* names were called but were offline
** Santa joked about giving this dude an Elite Echo of Steel RECIPE! So I didn't know what Santa really gave him (told you Santa was on a joking mood that time).
*** Santa said this player was getting an evil bunny. Like, wth? Again, I didn't know what he really got.

Here's just a few observations/comments after the event:
  • I was really surprised to see so few people who joined. Last year, the pages were really very long, and the entries were really great. I was just wondering why there were only few entries.
  • There were no machinima/video entries. Majority of submissions were screenshot comics and poetry. *coughmyentrycough*
  • 90% of all wishes were 70k GPs. And Santa actually gave a whole damn lot of them.
  • So much for asking for ELNs! Hahaha. Good thinking though. :p
I just remembered that I also won in last year's event! I got an Elite Ringmail, back when I was in Caravaggio. My last year entry was a lot cuter too (took a bunch of pics of my stuffed toys and made a comic out of it LOL), but this year wasn't all that bad. I did get help, you know. Hehehe.

Congratulations to all winners! Have a Merry Christmas, everyone!

Saving the New World from rats

"Have you got everything we need, Garion?" Tala asked as she polished her bayonet.

"We're all set to go, sis." Garion handed the last pack of healing potions to Sidapa, to which she faithfully stored in her trusty bags.

Tala eyed her twin brother with raised eyebrows. "What's up with the clothes?" she asked, pertaining to Garion's swim wear attire.

Garion smiled impishly. "Oh nothing. I thought maybe I can score some chicks while we're out on a mission."

She rolled her eyes. "Oh and Sidapa, don't tell me you want to score some hunks too?"

Sidapa made a piroutte and gave a small curtsy. "How do I look?"

"Like a pregnant whale," Tala noted with exasperation as she glanced at the Scout's bear suit. "Never mind. Let's go. We don't want to be late."

After packing their belongings, the DeSanggria family composed of the twins Tala the Musketeer and Belgarion the Wizard, along with their cousin, Sidapa the Scout, trooped to the entrance near the Queen's Gate in Reboldoeux to await their comrades.

Indeed, this new family of heroes who have come from the far corners of the Caravaggio province approached this new mission with much hesitation. Moving from Caravaggio to the province of Caracci was not an easy task for them, as they had to sell their assets in order to start anew. However, the kind and benevolent Outcasts Faction took them under their wing upon hearing of their arrival.

This new mission was a test for them. After learning about the apparent kidnapping of the young summoner, Viki, the Outcasts have enlisted themselves to join in the quest to retrieve the boy. Apparently, rumors of an evil Pied Piper was behind the abduction of the child. This particular mission would test their mettle in combat, after having trained for some time with their faction mates.

"Hello there! You're just in time, guys. You're joining my squad," said the Yecku family. Quite a number of the Outcasts Faction have already gathered near the gates as they awaited their instructions. The air was filled with a mix of excitement and anxiety as the faction discussed their plans for this mission.

Suddenly, a loud voice pierced the air. "Pioneers! I've been hearing rumors of rats sighted around Rion Praire. Are you ready?" The small, shrilly sound of Feng Ling's voice wafted throughout the city.

"Alright people, let's hussle! Move to Rion, now!" Faction leader †Bayushi† commanded.

Tala turned to her brother and cousin and gave a curt nod. Sidapa casted the acceleration buff while Garion moved to the air with swift grace. The team then moved outside the gates to the entrance at Rion.

The team was quite surprised to see a lot of families in the valley. Beyond the distance, Sidapa eyed a pack of rats and gave a disgusted shriek.

Garion didn't waste any time and rained a blast of photon splash on the ugly turds. "What the hell? What are these rodents made of?!" he exclaimed.

Nobody was able to say anything, as ground shook with much ferocity. Then, an ugly roar filled the entire valley.

"LEEN I WILL KILL YOU!!! AAAAHHH!!!"

"Holy crap it's Gerero!"

"@&*#$^#$!!! DIABLO!!!"

A multitude of Diablos and Gereros spawned the fields as everyone scrambled to stay clear of the monsters' AoE attacks. Just as these monsters quickly appeared, instantaneous screams of death followed at their wake. Tala, who was able to dodge some attacks while firing from a distance, got hit by a flying fist of a nearby Gerero, while Garion dropped to the ground as Diablo unleashed its fury. Sidapa, on the other hand, was already lying facedown on the ground.

"It's a massacre here. We need help!" a distraught Fighter cried.

"Pied Piper! Come out, come out!" Feng Ling screeched.

"Feng Ling Jie Jie! Pied Piper's Remora is selling me to Andre Jackson! T.T" Viki's terrified voice cut through the air.

"Who the hell is Andre Jackson?" someone asked.

It was a bit weird to see the exchange of dialogue while everyone was busy trying not to die while the rampage went on. The DeSanggrias were quite helpless as the could not be revived, not while their team mates were busy defending and attacking the monsters as well.

Just as they contemplated on their sorry state, a cool touch swept around them, healing their wounds. They looked up to see a pretty girl in a pink dress with angel wings. Beside her was Feng Ling, who was dressed in a pink and white suit.

"A GM! We're saved! Ress us please, GM!"

Garion bowed. "We owe you our lives, GM Eulalie."

The little girl smiled and walked away. Feeling renewed, the team went around their business to help their fallen comrades. "Sidapa, ress all those who need it. Garion, you and I are taking down that ugly piece of crap over there," Tala pointed to the big, hulking Gerero.

The twins proceeded to hack the monster from a distance, aiding their squadmates. Meanwhile, GM Eulalie was being surrounded by a flock of admirers.

"GM ress please."

"GM we wan m0ar Diablos!!!"

"Noooooo!!!"

"WE WAN GRIFFON LEH!!"

"How about Novia then?"

"GM let's date!"

"This is insane," Tala muttered. She was sandwiched between the mass of Eulalie's followers along with her brother and cousin. Nevertheless, she was thankful for the GM's presence as he buffed everyone with Hrin's Touch as well as revived the fallen families.

I guess this isn't so bad, she thought.

GM Eulalie, who was thoroughly enjoying the attention and the jokes, turned to please everyone by summoning treasure mobs, to which it dropped a few items.

"Man, these are crap stuff!" Garion exclaimed while examining a clean Calabrone.

"Shut up, just be thankful. We can chip the stuff we don't need you idiot," berated Sidapa.

"Wah lao! A lvl 96 chip!" Tala squealed.

Just as when everyone claimed their loot from the treasure mobs, Feng Ling happily announced the success of the mission. Viki was once again safe from the evil clutches of Andre Jackson...errr...the Pied Piper.

"I shall see you soon, everyone." said GM Eulalie, and he vanished...leaving a trail of pink feathers at his wake.

===

Hope you enjoyed reading my account of the Year of the AraRAT event in Caracci. I also logged in to Caravaggio to take part, but it looks like Caracci's activity was a lot more fun. GM Eulalie was very nice as he (yes it's a he! XD) revived and buffed all of us while we all tried to cajole him into summoning Griffon (no can do though, as Eulalie said). Not only that he also summoned some treasure mobs where we got some nifty loot!

Alas, such did not happen in Caravaggio.

I can't remember how many times I died, although I have to give credit to the GM in attendance as she revived us as well. But most of the time, people relied on their squad scouts' ress powers and buffs.

And perhaps the only significant thing that happened to me was this:

Yeah, he did cream me there. XD Not that I relish the idea of being killed by a boss monster (with an AR and DR of 62 to boot >.<), but doesn't everyone want to be called out by Gerero himself? It would've been better if I brought him down though. But being the noob that I was...hahaha...yeah right.

What I've been up to recently

At long last!

As of this entry, Riza, Ehlana and Armeo are now Veterans! Yayness! My main team finally reached Vet status on the first week of the month, and I've been such a proud mommy ever since (ah, my babies...they grow up so fast XD). With that said, I'd like to thank the people who've been instrumental in reaching my long goal in GE (you know who you guys are :p). Special mention to my mates in †Legion† for the numerous squad and power leveling sessions that made it easy for me to level faster.

I thought I was going to have an easy life after that, but I was sorely mistaken. I had to farm for mega ores and rare books to actually buy the Vet skill books, and being the typical impatient person that I am, I ended up buying the stuff and burning my vis along with it. Then stupidity struck me during these times when I learned I had to max out ETS' ESP skill, plus the fact that I bought too many rare books of magic than the usual. T_T

I never realized going Veteran will burn holes in your inventory.

Anyway, here's a brief account on what I've been up to for the past few days:

Party Elections

Meeting in Villa de Libertad prior to elections

Last Saturday, 5 January, was a monumental event in GE as the much anticipated beta elections were held. I was particularly clueless on the details on how to nominate our faction leader, and I presumed the others were quite the confused bunch as well. But after a few hits and misses, here's what I gleaned from the event:

1. Faction leaders can be nominated for the position of Duke/President. Nominations can be made at the Cite de Reboldoeux Reception Hall (Royalists) and Villa de Libertad (Republicans). Talk to the soldier near the party leaders (in this case, I approached the Auch Infantry Officer near Simon Ayende as my faction belonged to the Republican alliance).

Talk to this dude to nominate your leaders

2. Nominations can be done by purchasing the Candidate Registration Certificate worth 5 million vis by talking to the Reboldoeux/Auch Infantry Officer). Anyone in the faction can nominate their leader.

Make your votes count 'coz this baby costs a lot!

3. Click on the Elections Representative (the one near the ballot boxes) to cast your vote.

Cast your votes to get your nice prize

4. Click on the Elections Representative once again to get your Vote Prize Portion: 3pcs Election Compensation Potion (grants lvl 15 Intensify, Acceleration and Meditation)

Nifty little prize

*Please correct me if I overlooked anything in the process.

For the Republicans, only two leaders were nominated, Sapheron of SupperClub™ and Spardo of †Legion†. I still have to check on the Royalists side (anyone care to share who the nominees are?).

The Republican nominees

After the stipulated time of elections, it came as a surprise that there was nary an announcement of who won. I wonder when will they proclaim the winners?

Faction activities

Also last weekend, my mates in †Legion† together with some friends from SupperClub™ and other factions joined us in the Corridor of Assize to take down Chrysalis and the decomposing Dr. Fran (hehe). Since I never had any experience in taking part in a faction quest, this comes as close to having such activity.

A little bit of vanity before the hackin' & slashin'

Chrysalis was around lvl 85 and was quite easy to take down. We had a roll whacking Dr. Fran though, thank goodness for the efficient tankers in the team. After several casualties, we finally beat the old man and celebrated in Gehenna Bridge with a display of fireworks.

Everybody wanted a piece of Dr. Fran (who is in there somewhere XD)

Hopefully this won't be the last activity we'll have as the number of Veterans in our faction are slowly increasing in number. Thanks to our friends from other factions for helping us out! ^_^

I finally have her

After hearing the news about the possibility of sGE not releasing the cash RNPCs, I was quite disappointed to know that I might never see an Idge the Battlesmith added to my barracks. But lo and behold, this month's My Bellem's Box was the answer to all my worries!

Welcome Pleaides to the DeSanggria family barracks!

Yes, I named my favorite RNPC after my mate Iris' in-game name (much to Spardo's chagrin :P). I think it's a fitting name for a spunky, strong woman who will suan everyone in the server in the future (LOL just kidding! XD).

I'm currently plvling her to achieve Vet status at the soonest possible time. I can't wait to have a Veteran Idge with all those cool stances and extra AGI! :3

Congratulatory messages

I'd like to personally congratulate my good friends Fiksdotter, the Reclusion brothers and NineMoons for winning in the Fantazztic Film Awards and Intel Machinimasia movie-making events!

Kudos to you guys! Balato naman sa premyo! Wahehehe. ^_~

That's the wrap for now. I'll be posting something about an upcoming GE PH event this weekend. ^_^

Naughty or Nice list + boss hunts!

Ok, here's the final list of winners for the Naughty or Nice event. I missed out on the last two names because I was at a LAN shop and the connections sucked. Please do inform me of the other two winners and I will gladly update the list. ^^

*thanks to Kn!ghts from the forums for the update ^^

And yes, I won! Wahoo!!! And here's what Santa graciously gave me...

I did the enhancement myself. ^^ I still have yet to enchant it to get good stats. Hehe.

I was summoned to Cite de Reboldoeux and I saw Santa in the flesh (no, he wasn't fat and old XD), as well as another honored visitor...RCM Hrin!!!

I had a small chat with Hrin along with some of the other winners who were summoned to the city. It was actually the first time for me to see her in-game, and I believe almost everyone in Caravaggio were likewise surprised of her unexpected visit.

Anyway, I'd like to thank Santa and Hrin for the great gift. It totally made my day. My Christmas wish list is a rather long entry, so I'll just redirect you over here in case anyone's curious ^^;. I'm the last post in the thread on that page. Hehe.

Congratulations to my mate, Senzenin, for winning as well! :3

In other news, grinding is slowly testing my patience. Good thing our faction leader took some of us into a mini boss hunting safari in some maps.

Spardo encountered the Bellboy of Mein in Desolate Cliff and quickly invited us to whack this ugly fiend. Too bad we were KSed at the last moment of the monster's life, although I was able to see that it dropped sword (forgot the name though) the silver hammer to summon Vergo (thanks for that, Spardy hehehe).

And here is one of my first successful mini boss conquest...the Sabel Tiger! Thanks to Spardy for tanking the turd. XD

I was able to get the loot, which was a Knight of Templar armor, albeit with sucky stats. Nevertheless, the exhilaration of the experience fueled my wishes to reach Veteran soon. And I'm getting there...it's only a matter of time. ^_^

I've likewise taken on the mission to get a Viki RNPC card. The quest is long and the drops are rare...perhaps I'll finish it when I'm done with the level grinding of my main team. Here's to hoping I get his card!

Too bad it's maintenance day today. Hehe. >.<

[Caravaggio] Naughty or Nice: The List

It's been Day 2 since Santa started to make his presence known all over GE. On the first day of the wish granting event, a lot of the winners were either offline or came in late. It seems that once your name is called and you don't reply after some time, your wish will be forfeited.

On a funny note, the public broad chat was flooded with messages for Santa. Reading the remarks of the people had me rolling all over the floor. Hehe.

Today, a lot of the winners were actually online. What's more, Santa was announcing the stuff some of them actually won! The mysterious Santa gave out a few Le Blanc costumes, elite rifles and a Grandice NPC card! Wow!

Check out the lucky winners in this event!

I'll post the list of the Day 3 winners tomorrow. Hope I get my wish too. *crosses fingers*

Oktoberfest...the Granado Espada way

Together with a few friends in GE, Welling and I trooped to Metrowalk in Ortigas, the popular haunt for nightlife and gimik place of most people, for the closing party of Oktoberfest. GE PH had a hand as one of the participating sponsors in the event. And of course when you talk about GE, you cannot discount freeplays...and there was just that, right at the Gamefrog i-Cafe.

L-R: NineMoons, Fixdotter, pCM Veya, Welling, DeSanggria & Conteza

I met fellow bloggers Fixdotter, NineMoons, and later on Daemonic in the event. I also got to meet new faces such as Conteza and Vivaldi's Carebear Faction Leader Lobishomen and Deputy MirageEros who were quite engrossed in a boss hunt that time.

Lobishomen and MirageEros engrossed in a boss raid.

Unable to resist the lure of freeplay, I too engaged in the Halloween in-game event in search of Tiburon's scarecrows. I managed to find a handful of them, but later on I had to squad up with Welling to get to the higher level areas.

And finally, my efforts paid off as I finished the quest. I got all the loot from Tiburon—chocolates, diamond coupons, lvl 64 enchantment chips...and pumpkin hats! Unfortunately, only the stock characters can wear them, so only my elementalist, Armeo, looked quite the silly one. The hats are tradeable, so I gave the remaining 2 to Welling. You should see how silly his wizard and fighter looked wearing those accessories. Hehe.

Beer! A huge one!

Anyway, we weren't able to stay for long. We just went to the GE booth at the main event area, and I was surprised to see a lot of premium GE merchandise. Take note that these are not the usual merchandise available here in the Philippines.

The stuff came from IAH Singapore, so you can just imagine all those hard to find goodies such as posters, door hangers, mugs, shirts and mousepads! I was drooling all over it and was even tempted to nick a few (mwehehehe), but alas, they were for token exchange thingamajig in the event.

GE PH Product Manager, Ivee Feria, with teh premium GE loot.

Later on, we'll be having our GE bloggers' meeting. I'm already running late so let's save the chit chat some other time.

Ciao for now!~

The tournament of surprises

As you may well all know, I went to Warzone i-Cafe to observe the GE tournament for the Nationals which will happen on Sept. 15. Needless to say, going there was a major pain because I nearly got myself lost and walking under the scorching heat of the afternoon sun wasn't my idea of fun.

But then again, I digress.

Anyway, I arrived late, but thankfully, the match hasn't started yet. There were a total of 6 teams that joined, including 2 teams from CARNAGE, and one of each for Spartan, Ventorealle, Ad Infinitum and PinoyAllStars.

The matches, which were held in Liberty Colosseum, sported the players in pre-made accounts which featured characters in level 100 status. With a given budget of Vis, they spent their money on purchasing the necessary items such as bullets, potions and buffs.

To give you an idea on the battles that were, here's my recap of the preliminary matches that transpired:

First Match: Spartan v. CARNAGE 2

The members from Spartan Faction thought of circling the area to try to get first dibs on their opponent's home base. But the initial clash in the middle of the colosseum left most of them at the mercy of the CARNAGE team who awaited them, spamming skills wherever they went.

WINNER: CARNAGE 2

Second Match: Ventorealle v. CARNAGE 1

This was probably one of the swiftest victories for CARNAGE. Ventorealle did put up a resistance against their opponents, but had to concede after taking up a heavy beating.

WINNER: CARNAGE 1

Third Match: Ad Infinitum v. PinoyAllStars

The initial meet-up at the middle of the colosseum was rather exciting to watch. Neither teams wanted to go down so easily, despite the fact that most of their members had already fallen back. PinoyAllStars was quick to resurrect their fallen comrades, thereby providing them with the much-needed force to counter Ad Infinitum's offense.

WINNER: PinoyAllStars

Qualifying Round

The winning teams drew lots to determine the wildcard team and the other pair who will battle it out before taking on the wildcard. The winner for this round would then challenge the winner over at Gamefrog i-Cafe to determine the finalist who will go to the Nationals.

CARNAGE 1 v. PinoyAllStars

Contrary to CARNAGE 1's early victory was a stark contrast to this match. A lot of mishaps happened, starting with the team member's actions to take down the beacons before wiping out their enemies. GE PH Team Philippine rep Overseer who was part of this group was engaging enemies single-handedly, which ultimately led to most of the party's early demise. Ino, who was also within the ranks, was the only one left alive. The opposing team split their forces to stand guard over the fallen CARNAGE members, making sure that the sole survivor did not come back to resurrect his teammates. The other half made way for the CARNAGE beacon, which they successfully conquered.

WINNER: PinoyAllStars

CARNAGE 2 v. PinoyAllStars

CARNAGE Vice Faction Leader Infernalz led the second contingent of the team, going in for an aggressive strategy. Since this was a best of three match, everyone was in their high spirits when the matches took place. The first match saw to CARNAGE 2's victory, but the succeeding ones were won over by PinoyAllStars, who were quick to spam skills and take down their opponents.

WARZONE CHAMPS: PinoyAllStars

Final Match: PinoyAllStars v. Renaissance (Gamefrog)

This best of three match saw the skills of these factions who belonged to the non-PK servers of Pachelbel and Carracci respectively. PinoyAllStars was aggressive from the very beginning, winning the first match with ease. However on the 2nd one, Renaissance changes strategies by not going directly to the middle of the colosseum, but instead went straight to the enemy base. PinoyAllStars, however, was quick to counter their plans. A few Renaissance members appeared in the middle of the place, where PinoyAllStars waited. Skills rained all over, but the Pachelbel team was quick to resu their fallen, thereby suppressing the attacks.

OVERALL CHAMP: PinoyAllStars

Having watched all matches, I only have one thing to say, and that's to ALWAYS be careful in buying your stuff. Most of the errors were done at this early stage, with some players mistakenly buying rifle bullets instead of those for pistols, while others erroneously alloted mana potions to their hot keys instead of healing potions. Heck, I'm no expert in PVPs, but as they say, it always pays to double check on your plans and strategies before heading off.

Veya and I had a roll teasing the CARNAGE guys over this minor episode though. Hehe.

And because I was busy covering the matches, I was only able to take a few minutes peek at the Vergo event. Well, the peek was quite long for some of the summoned bosses to kill my girls with much ease. Harhar. If ever Harbin gets to read this, I apologize for unceremoniously disappearing at the height of the event.

Anyway, enough with formalities...let's get on with the pic spammage!

That's CARNAGE's Sprikitik's mop of unruly hair. He was probably one of the loudest bunch during the matches. And incidentally, his lineup composed of a Musketeer, but he didn't buy bullets for the pistols during the first match. Genius, I say! XD

No serious moments for Seighart of CARNAGE. XP

The Return of Vergo the Cursed (part 2): Off to war!

It was almost daybreak when Cyradis stirred from her fitful slumber. Pulling back the covers, she yawned and stretched, then proceeded to go about her morning duties of scouting the area for any news and updates. She was already late for she could hear the stirrings beneath the Prancing Pony Inn where they spent the night in Cite de Reboldoeux.

She was already assembling her equipment of potions and healing pots when she noticed the faint rustle of the curtains from the corner of her eye. She quickly spun, drawing her dagger and assuming a defensive position.

“Oh, it’s just you, Alaena. You scared me! What are you doing there by the window?”

Her sister, Alaena, sat by the huge windowsill, observing the activities below. “Something’s up and about today,” she motioned Cyradis to come over and pointed at the cluster of people gathered at the city’s notice board. “Someone just put up an announcement just now. Wake Verdandi. We must know what this is all about.”

Cyradis knew the urgency to her elder sister’s tone, so she moved to Verdandi’s bedside and shook her quite thoroughly. It took her a good minute before her sister finally stirred and opened her eyes. “Wut?” Verdandi groggily mumbled.

“We have to go. Now.” It was Alaena.

Even Verdandi, who was notorious for her catty disposition, did not try to argue with her sister. Grumbling under her breath, she tossed the covers and marched to the bathroom, stomping her feet while at it.

“I need 10 minutes to fix my hair,” she hollered from the bathroom.

Alaena was already strapping the polearm to her back with Cyradis’ assistance. “Now,” she stressed.

They heard a strangled moan from the small room and the ruckus of Verdandi’s movements.

A few minutes after, the girls were down the square, easing their way from the already crowded area where everyone was busy with talks of the recently-posted announcement.

“The Dark Lord? I thought we finished him a few months ago!” A Fighter with burnished steel armor exclaimed.

“No matter. I shall personally see to it that this wretched creature is sent back to the bowels of hell with which he came from,” said a Musketeer.

“We’re going to rain photon splashes on that ‘tard, you’ll see,” a group of Wizards said smugly.

Ignoring the discussions around, the girls found their way in front of the notice board with other pioneering families. The wooden board was quite cluttered with advertisements from merchants and other traders within the city, but they did not find any difficulty looking for the notice in question for it was prominently placed…and written in bold, red letters:

Heroes, it’s time to put your training to good use! Let’s unite and fight against the evil forces of Dark Lord. The time is now! Join me in the good fight in Ferruccio Junction Channel 2 on the 8th of September in 1700 hours.

Pioneers, if you are up to the task, sign your family names on the attached sheet. Fame and recognition awaits those who will stand by the city’s defense.

For Queen and country!

Signed,

Lady Doriane
Commander
1st Infantry Battalion

Cyradis saw the glint in Alaena’s eyes when she read the word “fame” in the notice. Seeing such a public issue of challenge would stir the warrior instinct in her sister. Without a word, she glanced at Verdandi and nodded. It seemed that they were thinking about the same thing.

Grabbing a quill from a flustered Elementalist wearing a Rosa Matrimonio dress, Verdandi quickly scribbled their names on the parchment paper.

We humbly pledge our allegiance to this noble quest. We shall aid the city’s defenses to the best of our abilities in order to rid the world of the foul stench of this accursed Dark Lord.

We are Alaena, Verdandi and Cyradis of the noble house of DeSanggrias and we give our oath of fidelity to Her Majesty, the Queen of Vespanola!

“That’s a trifle overdone, Verdandi,” notes Cyradis.

Verdandi tossed her blonde, curly locks over her shoulder. “Well, everyone else is going suicidal on this mission, so why not join the bandwagon?”

And for the first time since they arrived in Granado Espada, Alaena smiled. “Come on, we have some training to do…”

news and events update

So far, it has been an exciting week for some of us who've been spending quite a number of our waking hours immersed in this New World. Let me just enumerate what the DeSanggria family has been up to for the past few days.

GE business model: Hybrid P2P

I've always been an advocate of the pay-to-play scheme for this game. IAHGames has rather enumerated valid reasons why a free-to-play model would not be the right fit for a game of this caliber. It's good that they've finally broken the silence amidst speculations on what business model they will implement.

So for those who've been living under a rock, Granado Espada will have a Php 300/month payment scheme, under which the said amount will have corresponding G-Points for use in the Item Mall. Note that players also have the option of availing either G-Points with and without Game Time. They also have the choice of selecting Gamer Value Card (GVC) beyond the minumum monthly charges.

Please refer to the sGE website for details on the GVC, G-Points and payment breakdown.

In-game event: The Return of Vergo the Cursed

...or rather, the non-appearance of Vergo the Cursed. LOL.

I decided to take a peek on what was happening in this event, which took place at the Reboldoeux Queen's Gate Channel 1. The GE-wide taunts of Vergo got everyone psyched up to take him down, and naturally when most of the Pioneering Families took on his challenge, we all encountered a fiend far worse than Vergo himself:

Fun time LAG. W00t!~

Pioneers converge at the Queen's Gate.
Spot the Baron who killed Verdandi!

I was barely moving down the steps of the gate, and when I reached the fountain, Verdandi was killed on the spot by a Yakisoba member (we're still at war with them to this day *shakes head*). Thankfully, one of my faction mates revived my Elementalist and that's when the people (and the lag) started kicking in.

Anyway, to cut the long story short, Vergo sent quite a number of his minions to chop off Cervantes' defense. Take note that these monsters were not just the usual chaps...these were level 100 bosses. I've spotted a handful of Elgums, Grim Reapers, Magical Dragon Heads, TRexes, and a few level 83 gits such as Vladimir and the Fallen Champion.

And there were about 15 or so Treasure Golems that were unleashed as well. =_=;;

No sign of the Dark Lord.
And no, it's not you, Voldemort. XD

Monster drops were quite few and rare. Those who were able to get past the lag and actually pick up those items were lucky. Some of the baddies dropped the Sheep Horn hair for the Elementalist, as well as high quality rubies and other items.

But the thing was, we didn't see Vergo. Or his shadow. Nuh uh.

What the eff is wrong with the universe?

CARNAGE Faction event

Some enterprising dude by the family name of Cz°Overdose organized an in-game event for everyone in the faction. I'll be writing about that over at the CARNAGE Faction blog, so check it out once the article is up.

Faction politics

I know I'm probably not the best authority to comment on the faction politics happening in Cervantes, but I'm greatly disturbed at what's happening. As much as I'd like to say my piece, I just hope everything gets straightened out—for everyone's sake.

As Granado Espada is such an immersive world, it would do well for everyone to remember that THIS IS JUST A GAME. Let's not get carried away and bring the animosity in real life. Jeez.

But really, if someone offers a truce, accepting it would count for maturity and sportsmanship. Getting fussed up on so small a thing says a lot on one's character. I really ought to shut my trap. LOL.

Etcetera

Baroque era be damned, these guys need a vacation too!

a change of pace + GE in-game event

I've decided to move in to Caravaggio for the meantime in order to get to work on the next featured faction for the website. I'm currently within the ranks of the PasawayProphecy Faction, a fun group who enjoys sniffing katol (wehehehe) and passing around amusing comments on the Faction chat.

And with my temporary transfer to Caravaggio, I've revived the DeSanggria cousins Kahlil (Scout), Raquim (Musketeer), and Armeo (Elementalist), who all happen to be guys. LOL. I wonder what's the counterpart for chicksilog for girls then. XD

Anyway, I'm back to leveling the boys from scratch. It's such a chore to level, now with the 2XP event gone and all. I'm beginning to get tired of seeing the Ferruccio Junction and those blasted hopping crocodiles. But something unexpected happened last night in that very spot: some low level monster dude dropped the most insane item ever...a friggin' Lloyd Control Ring! O.O

Okay, I know this costs millions and all, with so many players getting their share of Catherine RNPCs. I thought it was my lucky day and that I can have this thing transferred to my Cervantes characters. But then again, stupid me, I just realized I can't very nearly transfer items to another server so that means either I train the boys decently to reach the appropriate level so I can get my own Catherine, sell it to the market place or to someone else, or to just plain give it away.

But I'm not that much of a saint to actually give it away without a catch. Mwahahahaha.

In other news, I've finally leveled the girls to 52! Hahahaha. It's such a big feat for me, considering the limited time I can play and that I don't have someone else to pilot my characters. I'm just glad they're finally eligible to wear other clothing aside from those leather armors and robes which have become really sickening to look at for the last 3 months. LOL.

At last, new wardrobe! :3

Oh and I just realized the girls can be Baroned now, but if we ever do meet in-game, go easy on me. ^^

But I'm not stopping there! I hope to see the Verdandi dressed in a Rosa Matrimonio gown, Alaena in a Gladiator Suit and Cyradis in a Laranja e Preto ensemble. That's gonna take a lot of grinding for me. XD I guess I ought to say goodbye to my social life for the meantime. Harharhar.

RCM Hrin has announced an in-game event happening in all of GE's 5 servers on Channel 1: The Return of the Dark Lord, Vergo The Cursed.

The event happens today, August 9, at 2000 (GMT +8) at the Reboldeoux Queen's Gate. I heard this Vergo dude's one tough nut...good thing wyldfyer from the GE forums had this handy screenshot of this monster.

Waah! Level 100 abomination!

I'm not too sure if I can stick around to cover the event (with the storm brewing and all), but we'll see!

P.S.: It's Singapore's National Day today! Have a great one, people! ^0^

weekend action up ahead!

A lot's going happen this weekend with GE...just thinking about it makes my head swim. XD

Anyway, what's this stuff I'm yakking about? For one, we're having an i-Cafe event in Malabon, where we'll be having a tournament for new Pioneering Families of levels 5-20. Players new to GE can experience the action first hand in a PvP tourney of "newbies". Hmmm..a newbie PvP tourney sounds exciting, but unfortunately, I live in the far side so I won't be able to see that for myself. Hehe. CM Veya, however, is going there so GE players in Malabon ought to watch out for that.

Read all about the event and tourney mechanics here.

Also on Saturday, there's going to be a War of the Factions, in which we in GE PH are hosting. This is going to be one hot competition against factions from all servers, and this is one more thing to anticipate this weekend (wonder if the paps from CARNAGE are joining too...I haven't seen their names in the official list as of this writing).

Read all about the War of the Faction mechanics here.

RCM Hrin has announced that Colony Wars will become a weekly event starting Sunday, July 29. Oh. my. God. Weekly CW = Dedz Anne. LOL.

I'm definitely going online to at least attempt a more comprehensive report similar to the Mena Family's coverage of CW in their server.

Lots of action this weekend! Now, if only I'd have enough time for sleep...
